PRAGUE, CZECH REPUBLIC, 2005

My first exposure to European Baroque architecture, in one on the world’s greatest cities. I hadn’t considered a career in architecture, but the seed was planted. I was awed by the public squares, views framed by winding streets, and the contrast between Old Town and the Soviet-era quarters of the city. Baroque and Gothic ornament and the accretions to buildings over time stirred my imagination.
